Lab Profile

Eric Pietras

I am originally from the Chicago area and obtained my BA in biochemistry at Knox College in Galesburg, IL. I subsequently pursued my Ph.D. at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), studying innate immunity and host defense against pathogen infection. After graduating in 2008, I joined the Passegué lab as a postdoctoral scholar, where my current research focuses on how inflammation affects the fate and function of hematopoietic stem cells in normal and leukemic contexts. Outside of the lab, I am an avid photographer and musician.
